Classroom Information
Home Reading: It is important that your child reads a book at home with you every night. Your child will focus on using different reading strategies taught at school to assist with their reading.
*Remember*:
- Never cover the picture up. Using the picture as cues is an important strategy for children to learn.
- Some words can’t be read by sounding them out, so do not focus on this too much with your child.
- Don’t focus on the mistakes…celebrate the successes!
Students are welcome to exchange their books for new ones throughout the week and should be checking in with Mrs. Barnes once per week.
Library: I will write a reminder in the planner the day before our scheduled library time to remind students to return their books.
Allergies: Our school is a tree nut, peanut, and scent free school. Please keep this in mind when packing your own child's lunch and send items that are marked as peanut free. Also, refrain from sending scented products like hand sanitizer.
